For me, the greatest benefit in learning Classical Chinese through Sabine’s class has been an increased confidence in my (still quite rudimentary, but growing) skills. Sabine, and the materials she uses in teaching, help to break complex grammatical concepts down in a way that makes them feel less intimidating.

Feeling less intimidated, I find myself grappling with brand new passages more readily, and looking for nuance in texts that I thought I already knew well. This has meant, overall, that I spend more time with the texts and that has already resulted in some small clinical breakthroughs. Learning Classical Chinese isn’t easy, but with the help of such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic teacher, it becomes both doable and even enjoyable.
