Vita Revelli (Greece)

A confession. I joined your free course “Introduction to Classical Chinese” to see if I could recommend it to my students. I was worried that it might be too difficult and too much above their heads. None of that! Superb!

As for myself, I have enjoyed the course immensely. I have especially loved the fact that you have been able to talk about the 'dry' and structural aspects of grammar as well as about the meaning and use of words in a comprehensive manner. I have also loved that you have shared with this group the thoughts, considerations and doubts the translator has when 'meeting' a text. You have been able to show that translation is a dialogue that starts from a deep desire to listen, rather than the mechanical application of rules and regulations. This has made your course deeply humane.
